August Sander - Masterpieces and Discoveries

I was in Antwerp last week to see the exhibition on August Sander organised by the FotoMuseum in Antwerp. It's a quite large exhibition taking a whole floor of the museum. The exhibition is on until 14th February. If you happen to be around Antwerp or if you don't mind the half an hour train journey (from Rotterdam) it is highly recommended.

"August Sander ... is considered one of the most influential photographers of the last century. With his conceptual portrait series People of the 20th Century, he set out to provide a record of the social order of the age. <...>
In addition to a selection from People of the 20th Century, the exhibition is displaying a kaleidoscopic retrospective of different themes spanning five decades: cityscapes of Cologne before and after World War II, German landscapes, botanical studies, commissioned work for the industrial sector and much more".
